# Online ACOTAR Book Clubs

## How to run ACOTAR without ruining book one

Book one is a different spice and a different plot than book two. Clubs that dump everyone into a single “ACOTAR spoilers allowed” chat will wreck the people on page forty. Split by book, or require a tag, or only admit readers who have finished the instalment under discussion.

State the rule on the door: which book is current, whether earlier books are fair game, and that ACOSF is not book one. The series is ongoing, so “we finished ACOTAR” is not a true statement until the last volume exists — it means you finished the published ones, or you finished book one. Say which.

1. **Pick one book, not the brand.** “ACOTAR” is five-plus titles in readers' mouths. Set A Court of Thorns and Roses, or Mist and Fury, or a later volume. Catch-up readers need to know which door they are walking through.
2. **Put spoiler rails between instalments.** Separate chats or hard tags. Rhysand in book two is not a surprise you get to take from someone on book one. This is the whole job of an ACOTAR club.
3. **Publish the spice.** Book one sits lower on the House scale than Mist and Fury. People join ACOTAR clubs for very different heats. Point at a scale rather than saying “it's spicy later”.
