A BookTok book club is a room reading whatever the app is currently unable to shut up about — usually romantasy, often spicy, frequently a series that is not finished. Shared taste, not a pedagogy. Fourth Wing, ACOTAR, dark romance, enemies to lovers, “I DNF’d this and I am angry”. A BookTok club that tries to balance every month with a quiet literary novel will lose the room. Pick the titles the members already filmed themselves buying.

Pace is chaotic. People arrive having finished the series in a weekend or having watched three recaps and read nothing. Async chat and page logging handle that. A single live call does not.
