A dark romance book club reads love stories that do not behave — morally grey leads, violence that costs something, content that needs warnings more specific than “dark”. ## Dark is not spicy, and the club has to know that

Darkness, on this site, is violence, moral compromise and unhappy outcomes. Spice is sex. A closed-door book can be bleak; a scorching book can be light. Dark romance clubs that only mean “explicit” will ambush people who came for ruin and got heat, or the reverse.

Content warnings belong on the pick, not in a Discord after someone is already on chapter four. If the club cannot do that, it is not ready to read this category in public.
