# Spicy Romance Book Clubs Online

A spicy romance book club is a room that expects sex on the page and says so before anyone starts chapter one. Online, the honest versions publish a heat range, keep closed-door readers from being ambushed, and do not treat “spicy” as a synonym for “dark”. ## Spice has to be a number, not a vibe

Clubs die on mismatched heat. Someone wanted kissing; someone wanted a five. The House scale is public: zero is no sex in the book, three is several explicit scenes of real length, five is explicit throughout and central to why the book exists. Romance prominence is rated separately — a book can be a love story with a closed door.

A good spicy club either stays inside a band (say three to five) or votes with the rating attached to each candidate. “It's spicy” is not a rating.

## Where spicy clubs gather

Public circles should put the heat on the door next to the current book. If they do not, believe the last person who was surprised, not the banner.

**Where can I find a spicy romance book club online?**

**Is a spicy book club the same as a dark romance club?**

No. Spice is sexual content. Darkness is violence, moral compromise and how unhappy the book is willing to be. You can want one high and the other low. Clubs that conflate them will pick the wrong next book.

**Can a spicy club read closed-door books?**

Only if that is an explicit exception, not a bait and switch. A club named for heat that then picks a zero will feel like a different club. Put the range in the creed.
