Fourth Wing Book Clubs
A Fourth Wing book club reads The Empyrean — Fourth Wing, then Iron Flame, then Onyx Storm — with spoiler rails between books and a warning that the series is unfinished. The Dragon Riders house in House of a Reader is the obvious hall: war college, dragons, a lethal ranking, enemies to lovers. Join a public circle already on the book, found a private one for a buddy read, or use a fandom Discord. Pace matters more than in most clubs, because a lot of readers finish Fourth Wing in a weekend and then have to wait for everyone else.

How to run an Empyrean club
One book at a time, named on the door. Iron Flame spoilers in a Fourth Wing chat is how you lose members. The series being ongoing means the club needs a plan for the wait — a side read, a “books like Fourth Wing” cycle, or a pause with the weekly page challenge pointed at something else.
Spice and on-page violence should be stated up front. Readers arrive from BookTok with very different expectations of both.
- 01
Start on Fourth Wing unless everyone is past it
It is the common door. If your group has finished it, write Iron Flame on the door so a newcomer does not join the wrong war.
- 02
Separate chats or hard tags per book
Xaden's story changes. People who are still in the quadrant should not meet the later books in a meme.
- 03
Give the fast readers a job
A side circle, a “what to read after Fourth Wing” list, or logging pages on a different book toward the same house. Do not punish them for finishing, and do not let them spoil.
Where Empyrean clubs meet
Dragon Riders circles in the House, BookTok Discords, r/fourthwing, and buddy reads of two people who do not need a crowd. Public circles work well here because the title is famous enough that a listed room fills. Private circles work better for friends who will text about chapter twelve at work.
Dragon Riders circles
The House's epic-fantasy / dragon-rider guild. Shared read, chat, weekly pages. Found one or join a public Empyrean circle. Free.
Fandom Discord and Reddit
High spoiler risk, high energy. Use them as fandom; keep a paced read-along in a circle if you care about people still on book one.
A two-person circle
If the pace mismatch is the problem, shrink the door. Private circle, one book on the door, the fast reader waits or reads a side title. Still a club.
Questions readers ask
- Is there a Fourth Wing book club?
- There is no official club. Join or found a circle in House of a Reader — the Dragon Riders house matches the book — or enter a fandom Discord. State which Empyrean book is current. The series is not finished.
- Should we wait until the series is complete?
- Only if your group hates waiting. Most Fourth Wing clubs exist because people will not wait. Plan a side read for the gap, or accept that the club will go quiet between volumes and come back.
- What do Fourth Wing clubs read next?
- Often the next Empyrean book, then other dragon-rider or war-college romantasy — Zodiac Academy, The Serpent and the Wings of Night, Quicksilver. This site's Books Like Fourth Wing page ranks those on the same scales.
